He has over 10 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy as well as crisis counseling. Matthew has experience providing therapy in settings such as residential treatment, hospitals, in home counseling, and on an outpatient basis. He has experience in areas including death and dying, anger management, infidelity, depression, anxiety, divorce, spiritual issues, abuse, and ADD/ADHD.
Matthew’s approach is to help each client find hope in the midst of difficult times and pull through adversity as a stronger, more complete person. He focuses on the strengths of each client to highlight strategies for growth and success. Therapy is often a way for a client to recognize how his or her thought patterns affect emotions and actions in both positive and negative ways. Therapy can also be a way to resolve personal issues without the stigma of judgment and criticism. Matthew also views therapy as a way to facilitate change, but ultimately change comes from within the client. Matthew’s commitment is to meet clients where they already are and to help motivate them to achieve their goals.
